Badin-Roque House

Rare surviving example of a poteaux-en-terre (posts in the ground) house, and ancient form of construction prevalent in Mississippi Valley during 18th and 19th centuries. Probably fewer than 10 extant examples in U. S.

Located in front of Badin-Roque House on Cane River Road, Parish. Natchitoches Parish. 293
