Terre-Aux-Bouef

Here, in Land of Oxen, in 1778 Governor Bernardo de Galvez appointed Commandant Pierre Philippe de Marigny to parcel land on the bayou for Canary Islanders. Later Creole planters bought large estates on the bayou.
