History

1805
When the Territory of Orleans is divided into counties the present-day St. Tammany Parish is part of Spanish West Florida
1846
Christ Episcopal Church in Covington built by Jonathan Arthur of London for descendants of English settlers in British West Florida. It is consecrated by Bishop Leonidas Polk, April 11, 1847. Christ church is the oldest public building being used in Covington.
