Served with distinction in Bavaria, Bohemia, and Italy during the War of Austrian Succession
1750
Commissioned captain of colonial troops and assigned to Louisiana.
1757
Lead a party of French raiders against an English installation on the Tennessee River.
1758
September
Commands a detachment of French troops in the successful defense of Fort Duquesne and in the evacuation of the fort the next month.
1759
Leads a relief expedition to Fort Niagara. While en route the troops are attacked and Aubry is taken prisoner and tortured by Indians. As an English prisoner of war he is imprisoned in New York
1760
Aubry is released and sent back to France where he receives the Cross of St. Louis for meritorious conduct in the colonials service.
1763
October
Returns to Louisiana and accompanies Director-general Jean Jacques Blaise D’Abbadie to Mobile for the transfer of the French lands between the Mississippi River and the Appalachian mountains from France to England.
1765
February
After Governor Jean Jacques Blaise D’Abbadie's death Aubry becomes acting governor of Louisiana. He directs the settlement of the first large influx of Acadian immigrants and readies the transfer the rest of Louisiana to the Spanish Governor, Antonio de Ulloa.
1766-1768
March 5
After the first Spanish Dons arrive, Aubry cooperates with Ulloa to ease the Spanish take over.
1768
October 29
Again Aubry assumes the role as acting governor after the colonial rebellion.
1769
August
When Alejandro O’Reilly arrives, he and Aubry discuss the rebel leadership. The next day ten individuals are arrested and Aubry helps to restore order to New Orleans.
1770
February 4
On his return trip to France Aubry dies in the wreck of the Pere de Famile off Bordeaux, France.
