Graduates from the University of Louisiana L.L.B. Admitted to the bar.

Practices law in New Orleans.

Delegate to the Louisiana Secession Convention, signing the ordinance.

During the Civil War he enlists as a private in Company E, New Orleans Guard Regiment of the Louisiana Militia.

Assistant City Attorney for New Orleans.
1867-1880
Private practice in New Orleans.
1880-1892
Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Dies in New Orleans
