Servies as a lt. in the New Orleans Militia during Galvez Expeditions

Forms partnership with Alex Reaud. Reaud and Fortier becomes one of the leading exporters of skins and pelts to Bordeaux and lumber products to Guarico and Port-Au-Prince.

Married Rose Durel, they have two sons and one daughter. His daughter is the mother of Valcour Aime.

Appointed to the short-lived (one month) French Municipal Council of Laussat.

Dies in New Orleans
