William Wickoff

Born near Wyckoff, New Jersey ca. 1749. Son of William and Agnes Vandal Wickoff.
1781
Moves to New Orleans and marries Susan Watts. They will have seven children.
1804
September 4
Appointed the Opelousas representative to the Legislative Council of the Territory of Orleans.
1805
Public Actioneer and treasurer of the County of Opelousas.
1806
Appointed Justice of the Peace. He is also listed as a stockholder of the New Orleans Insurance Company, the Bank of New Orleans the Louisiana Bank and the Louisiana State Bank. He is also an active land owner, cattleman and planter.
1821
March 26
Dies at Bellvue Prairie of Opelousas and interred at Grand Coteau Cemetery.
