Robert F. Kennon becomes Governor of Louisiana over Earl K. Long s chosen successor Carlos G. Spaht.

The Beauregard-Keyes House was originally built in 1826 as a honeymoon cottage for Telcide, the daughter of double-tongued auctioneer Joseph Le Carpentier. In 1952 Author Francis Parkinson Keyes buys the house for restoration and tears down a building on the corner to restore part of Correjolles’ original garden.
